Inboxes — receiving mail

A help desk needs somewhere to receive customer email so that messages become tickets. Configure this under Inboxes.

Two ways to receive mail

  • Attached mailboxes feed inbound polling — the help desk periodically checks the connected mailbox for new messages.
  • Mailgun routes are available for tenants who point their domain's MX records at Ariyes, so mail is delivered straight in.

Which to choose

If you already have a support mailbox, attaching it is the quickest path. Pointing your MX records at Ariyes is the more direct route for a dedicated support domain. Either way, once configured, inbound email lands as tickets in this help desk.
